What is COVID-19?

On 31 December 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan City, China. ‘Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2’ (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed as the causative agent of what we now know as ‘Coronavirus Disease 2019’ (COVID-19). Since then, the virus has spread to more than 100 countries, including South Africa.

Delivery during Level 4:

Free Delivery applies for orders above R1000. T&Cs apply. Collection is available at all OPEN shops and selected non-contact shops.

We encourage choosing delivery above collection for the safety of staff and customers.

Lockdown Protocols: 

As per Level 4 allowances, Section E.17. allows for the sale of Stationery and educational books. Thus Protea Boekwinkel will be allowed to operate under COVID-19 Risk Adjusted Strategy Level 4 to Level 1. Protea Boekwinkel will be closed for Level 5 Lockdown. 

All COVID-19 health and safety protocols must be followed at all times, including observance of guidelines for social distancing, sanitation and hygiene, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment, like cloth face masks, as determined by the National Department of Health.

Business Hours for shops that are open during Level 4:
Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00
Saturday 08:00 - 13:00
Sunday Closed

Rules & Regulations:

Note that these policies are changing and evolving regulations set by our government and Protea Boekwinkel will aim to comply completely to regulations set.

Rule #1:
Customers may not enter without a mask to shop(s). Protea Boekwinkel does have the right of admission to deny access.

Rule #2:
Protea Boekwinkel employees will always wear a mask when engaging with customers.

Rule #3:
Disinfectant and sanitizers have been set up at check-out counters, customers will be requested to sanitize upon entering Protea Boekwinkel.

Rule #4:
The counter and credit card machine will be disinfected after each transaction. Cleaning cloths and disinfectant available at the counters.

All orders will be dispatched for delivery from the 4th of May 2020. Delivery should take between 5-9 working days. Free Delivery applies for orders above R1000. T&Cs apply.
